Franzi Thekla Console Table March 04th, 2018 - 12:28:59
Console tables are often found placed against walls and in some cases are attached to the wall making them more secure. These small tables are sometimes used for display and decorative purposes providing a secure surface on which to stand a lamp or perhaps some flowers. With such versatility and a wide selection of shapes styles and sizes you are sure to find a one that suits your home at a price you can afford.
Ottomans are generally placed in front of chairs and recliners. There should be space coordination between Recliner and Ottoman. For space constrained environments choose an Ottoman which can also be used as a Coffee table.
The arrangement of the furniture in home will influence the nature of décor. It also determines accessibility and functionality of furniture piece. Planning ahead can escape from untidy arrangements. Though the arrangement varies from room to room but there are a few points which are common to all rooms. I am using this space to share my ideas on furniture arrangement which might be helpful for everyone.
Around the 17th-century in Italy a console table was a major manifestation of the culture of furniture made for the purpose of display. Many examples of the period were carved and were in fact some of the finest pieces of sculpture as much as furniture. An opulent group of consoles was made in 1675-78 for the Palazzo Colonna in Rome; where the supports for the tops were commonly carved as human figures eagles tumbling putti (cupids) luxuriant foliage and dolphins and they often were gilded.
Distressed Painting. Another option is to create a distressed paint look on your wood console tables for added character. This is going to take a little more work and a few more supplies. You will need 1-2 colors of paint a hammer file sandpaper and patience. First you need to have an unfinished table. If your table already is great; if not you need to strip it down before beginning.
Side chairs should complement and supplement the existing décor. Over and above furniture should not become a hindrance to the room's passage.
